Growing up in a humble neighbourhood, Winston received his basic education from schools in the vicinity of Yishun, a quiet town located at the northern part of Singapore. Since his youth, Naval Base (Primary & Secondary School) had been his second home for 11 years.

Growing up in a family with parents who worked as policemen, the habit of being disciplined has become part of him, to the point of him considering to be a policeman or an army officer when he grow up. The strong influence from his parents had instilled in him the values of being upright and honest.

The first love of playing basketball has always been his hobby, which led him to meet a benefactor who helped him carved out a career of his own many years later. To his peers, playing basketball was the first thing that they remembered most about him.

Soon, the call of duty fell upon him. He was enlisted into Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Basic Military Training School (BMTC). After weeks of arduous physically training, he was sent to be trained to a Security Trooper under Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). The adversities he endured and surmounted during his army days fortified him to be resilient, courageous and relentless.

Pursuing further education was what he needed when he was officially released from the SAF. Despite running a successful flyer distribution business at the age of 21, Winston continued to pursue further education in the area of business to sharpen his hone. Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) became his third home, other than his home and company office, when he started the odyssey of gaining crucial business knowledge. In 2007, he completed his Diploma in International Business. The hunger for knowledge did not stop him to go further. In 2008, he enrolled for Advance Diploma in Business Management and again successfully went through the entire course and obtained the certification. Shortly after, Winston turned his focus back to building businesses. The thought of expanding his business knowledge occurred at the back of his mind once again. Registering for bachelor degree programme was the next utmost important task to him. He did the necessary procedure. In 2011, he was conferred Bachelor Degree in Business & Management Studies. It became the turning point of his career later in 2015 – the first entrepreneur to be a graduate in the financial recovery industry. History was created.

In 2015, Winston ventured into a totally new industry – financial recovery. He started KX-Unit. It was an industry most people shun away due to the misunderstood perception the society instilled. It was a one-man show operation until he met his business partner, Reagan Wang, who went through tough times with him till today. With his previous work experience in various industries (waste management/medical/cleaning/automobile/financial recovery), these experienced proved to be valuable as he started his journey in running KX-Unit.  

​

KX-Unit is currently flourishing in the area of alternate financing, automobiles, construction & renovation, food & beverage as well as entertainment industry. Wanting to contribute more to the industry, Winston embarked on his new venture once again. In 2019, KX-Consultancy was incorporated to carry out services like debt advisory/training and even support startups & SMEs in their entrepreneur adventure.
